A portrait of my sister-in-law’s beloved cat, Sia, that I painted after she lost her unexpectedly. Sia had been rescued from dire circumstances in a different country, painstakingly nursed back to good health, and brought much joy to the lives of her pet parents. I loved that the reference photo featured plants, which factored into my brother and sister-in-law’s relationship.
